The research methodology for the case studies includes a ‘right to reply’ policy. This opportunity to respond is intended to avoid publishing inaccuracies and is, as such, an essential element of ensuring high-quality research.

Right to reply procedure

Companies cited in the case studies were invited to review the draft text in which they were mentioned, and were given the opportunity to provide comments and make corrections. To allow companies sufficient time for review, the review was announced with at least one week’s notice and companies were given two weeks to respond.

SOMO processed all responses received from companies, made corrections where the draft included errors, and added the company’s perspective when contrasting interpretations exist. It is important to note that, even if a draft research report is reviewed by a company or companies, the authors of the research remain solely responsible for the contents of the research.
